I’ve been thinking for awhile about starting a new photography blog or website, but haven’t quite found the right way to launch it. It’s always hard to take that first step with something new!

Then one day it clicked! I already had a blog, I had a current project that could slot into it, and maybe this could be the way to take a simpler step towards my new photography and website goals.

Here’s a quick look back at what’s already on this blog and what’s lead up to picking it back up:

In 2012 I challenged myself to take, edit and post a photo every day. It was a success, so in 2013 I tried it again with the aim to post a photo each week. It was less challenging in some ways, and more in others, so also a great learning experience.

After an overseas move to Dublin, Ireland in 2013, I decided to pace myself and let my day to day experience with photographing a new country develop more naturally. I still took photos on a very regular basis, from quick shots on my phone as I walked the city, to larger sessions with my DSLR on day trips or vacations around Europe.

Fast forward to today:

In 2016 life has taken a new turn as I’m expecting my first child! As I entered my third trimester, I realized that I had gone back to my photo of the week routine in the form of self portraiture: weekly bump photos to share with friends and family back home. It seemed like the perfect way to revive my blog and see where it takes me.

With a baby on the way, a recent career change, and so many unknowns ahead of me, I want to continue to use my camera more, improve my photography skills, document what’s around me, share it with others, and… see what I can make of it all!

So, I’m back! Back with a new focus, new brand, and new ideas. Thanks for coming along for the ride. 🙂

In celebration of the revival, here’s a look back at some photo highlights from past posts:
