This weekend I finally got out of the city to see some of Ireland’s “green”. 🙂 Thanks to some friends, we drove down to the Wicklow Mountains National Park and took a 7+ mile hike around this lake valley. It was a little more than the easy walking trail we expected (ie: never ending stair path), but it was great to get up and enjoy the view! We hiked up to the top here (on the right), then around and back down the other side of the lake (on the left). We even had some patches of sunshine, which you’ll just have to trust me on.

Afterwards we looked around the 10th-12th century monastic site in Glendalough, had an outdoor cafe lunch, then drove back to the city to watch a Ireland play Georgia at a soccer match in the Aviva followed by drinks at a pub. Busy, busy, (but fun) day!
