Week 51

December 17 - 23, 2013 "Happy Christmas to you" from Ireland. 🙂

Week 46

With the time and weather changing, Ireland is a much colder, darker place and I'm still adjusting to it. With only about 9 hours of daylight, it gets harder to good photos (plus everything else I need to do in the daylight), but I'll get there. Or, maybe it's time to focus on some good night shots! But, for this week, here is a reflection of a weeping willow in the canal.

Week 45

It's feeling and looking like fall here in Ireland. I went on a jog to Herbert Park (one of my favorites that I used to live by). The ducklings I used to watch have all grown up, but on this day, a Blue Heron was perched on the side of the pond surrounded by falling leaves.

Week 44

On one last adventure with my visitors, we took a trip to the Wicklow Mountains. One of our most scenic stops was here, overlooking Lough Tay or Guinness Lake. The wind was incredible, but I managed to hold it steady to get this panoramic shot. Fun fact: they added the white sand beach to look like foam on a pint of Guinness!

Week 43

I was excited to have our first visitors this week! At the top of their must-see list was the Blarney Castle. I was happy to have a reason to travel there, so we hopped on a train to Cork and took a side trip to Blarney to tour the castle and kiss the Blarney Stone. We had really beautiful weather - blue skies and sunshine - but this photo with a more gritty, gray feel turned out to be one of my favorites.

Week 42

Saw a keg pick up at this iconic corner on a quiet morning.

Week 41

We had an unexpected get-a-way to Galway this weekend! Here's one of my favorite shots of the abandoned boats in the docks and a rainbow row of houses just off the main pedestrian streets of the town.

Week 40

Here's a quick shot I got of the Ha'penny bridge over the Liffey in Dublin.

Week 38

Just on my way to go shopping, looked over, and and loved this composition. Here's to this new, funny, European, city life!
