Day #154
We had some time to spend in Denver with a visit to REI as the main priority. It was just over a mile from our hotel, so we walked. Along the way we passed a sidewalk chalk art festival. The crowd drew us in and we wandered along admiring the artwork (and the artists for spending the day crawling around on the concrete). Very impressive!
I took a lot of photos here, but this won out because it shows the scene. The art festival was the icing on the cake for this cute little area with its’ brick buildings, sidewalk cafes, shops, and banners and twinkle lights strung over the street. We couldn’t resist going back to Larimer St. for dinner on a patio and drinks at a cozy wine bar. (While we ate, we watched the artists remaking their art that had been so sadly washed away by an afternoon shower… talk about dedication!)
