We went on another great day trip this weekend. This time on a tour through Dún Laoghaire, Dalkey, and Killiney. Dún Laoghaire was a beautiful seaside town, we took a tour of a castle in Dalkey and had a great walk to Killiney including this amazing view.
One thing I love about living in a new city is exploring. Not just going to new places, but taking the time to really look around and appreciate things. We walked just a few blocks out of our way today and found some pretty little streets with interesting old buildings...
We tried out a new bar this week and I was fascinated with the ice. When you order this drink, they form a huge ball of ice from a frozen block. I also loved the drink itself. 😉 The "Chocolate Bourbon Ball" is my latest favorite!
... One of my favorites is the grand front door surrounded by flowers and vines. So far we've seen wisteria, long stem red roses, and a few shades of pink flowers bloom.
For the 3rd weekend in a row, we set off on a day trip, this time to Bray. It's a cute seaside town just down the coast from Dublin. We took a hike up the cliffs and got these amazing views all the way up!
...to Howth for a look around and a walk up the cliffs. We had perfect timing for our walk, with the sun out and just starting to get lower for some really pretty light. And, what an amazing view of Howth's coast and Ireland's Eye Island in the distance!
... Wicklow Mountains National Park hike around the lake valley... it was great to get up and enjoy the view! We hiked up to the top here (on the right), then around and back down the other side of the lake (on the left). We even had some patches of sunshine, which you'll just have to trust me on.
What a lucky, historic, exciting week to be visiting Manhattan, KS! Graduation aside, K-State completed this trifecta of championships, which is nearly unheard of! What better place to see it displayed than in the heart of Aggieville? Way to go Cats!
